Job description

I'm looking for a plant inspector with any of the following certification:

API-570 Piping Inspection
API-510 Pressure Vessel Inspection
API-653 or EEMUA 159 Tank Inspection
ASME Plant Inspector (Level 1 or 2)

Salary is graded dependent upon how many of those you possess. If you hold PCN certification (weld inspection) or CSWIP 3.0/3.1, then this commands further increments.

Travel outside of working hours will be paid at OT rate of x1.5. If own vehicle is used (e.g. travelling from home), mileage will be paid at 45p per mile. There is the possibility of working from home with use of a company van.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced inspector to support a growing business.

The focus of the role will be to work closely with clients, inspecting a variety of in-service equipment and producing comprehensive reports to assess and recommend improvements to the highest standards.

Experience working on a variety of jobs whilst unsupervised and confident in error-free report writing is a must.

Experience of specifying Inspection intervals in accordance with approved codes and current Written Schemes of Examination is also required.

Job requirements

API-570 Piping Inspection, OR API-510 Pressure Vessel Inspection, OR API-653/EEMUA 159 Tank Inspection OR ASME Plant Inspection (number of certifications + NDT will command higher salaries).
Desirable – API-580 Risk Based Analysis
Desirable – PCN Level 2 for UT, ET, MT, PT and CSWIP 3.0/3.1.
A valid, full UK Driving Licence.
Very strong interpersonal skills, organisational agility and well-developed influencing skills, ideally in client facing roles, as well as the ability to coach and mentor junior inspectors.
A proven record of delivering a high standard of technical customer service.
Able to meet deadlines.

Job responsibilities

Inspection of pressure vessels, pipework, storage tanks and other process equipment.
Forming a key interface with the client to offer assessments and recommendations on the condition of the inspected equipment, including remedial work, repairs, maintenance or modifications that may be required.
To act as my client's focal point on client sites for which you are the designated Inspector, ensuring effective client management, issue resolution, and promoting reach-back to other disciplines within the business to offer a comprehensive service.
Creation and amendment of Written Schemes of Examination (WSE).
Writing, signing and issuing of: Inspection Reports; Supplementary Inspection Reports; Imminent Failure/Danger Notification Forms; and Movement Reports.
