Job description

Fixed-Term Contract Position in Switzerland

**Open to EU and EFTA nationals only**

Requirement is for 3 - 4 LTD company RT contractors, working through own Personal Services Company, to provide NDT during a power generation outage. Wet film radiography utilising X-ray and gamma sources.

Down time on site will be supplemented by work in client's facility.

Ability to perform MT or PT or VT or UT an advantage, and will command higher end of rate scale.

Role Details:

  • Outage starts in May. Complete in September.
  • Duration of engagement: 2 - 4 months
  • Scope of Work: Join a team to perform RT on outage site and client's facility, dependent upon demand
  • Minimum of 42 hours work per week
  • Payment Intervals: Hourly rate, paid weekly
  • Mobilisation and de-mob allowances available.

Accommodation:

  • Client will provide assistance in sourcing local accommodation
  • Anticipated cost 80 EUROS per night
  • Numerous large towns with transport links to site.

Desirable skills

  •    NDT Level 2 certification in: VT, MT, PT or UT

Job requirements

  •    ISO 9712 NDT Level 2 certification in radiographic testing (PCN is compliant)
  •    Addition of either of the following NDT Level 2 certifications will command a higher rate: VT, MT, PT & UT
  •    Experience working in the power generation or oil & gas sectors (experience working on power generation outages preferred)
  •    Familiar with using gamma isotopes
  •    Flexibility: Willingness to adapt to varying workloads and potential overtime requirements

Job responsibilities

  •    Carry out Radiographic Testing (RT) using X-rays and gamma sources. Image capture medium: film
  •    Perform RT at client’s base (gamma bunker work) and customer site (power generation outage)
  •    Carry out RT of welds, pipelines, and other critical components to ensure their integrity and safety
  •    Scrutinise ‘graphs against acceptance standards and specifications
  •    Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations
  •    Carry out inspection duties to meet programme demand
  •    Carry out control checks, processor monitoring and verify equipment calibrations
  •    Liaise/interface with appropriate areas of the business and build effective relationships
  •    Write inspection reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity of meaning
  •    Good communication skills and team player
  •    Self-motivated
