Job description

NDT technicians, if you don't want to do the mundane, read on...

  • Are you ready to play a key role in my client's expansion of their global maritime NDT service?
  • Do you have an entrepenerial mindset, able to develop relationships with customers and secure more business for the team?
  • Are you confident in managing your own comprehensive workload, ensuring delivery of projects and other business-related matters?
  • Do you want professional progression; an opportunity to gain advanced NDT methods and to develop into a recognised specialist in the field?

If you answered 'yes' to those questions, then I want to hear from you.

This is a permanent role for an experienced Level 2 UT & PAUT NDT technician. It offers what contracting doesn't: regular pay, paid holidays, sick pay, great benefits, and, most importantly, paid training and recertification.

This is not a typical 9 till 5 job; one day you could be sitting in the lab creating reports, the next you could be carrying out structural surveys for a customer in Singapore.

You would contribute to complex investigative and litigation-focused assignments and support the preparation of high-quality evidence-based subject matter expert reports.

It really is a great job. I received this from a former candidate, 'I went for an interview 18 months ago and it was the most impressed I've been with a facility and staff. I didn't pursue it any further, the commute was just too much. But it's a diamond of a job.'

My client is a well-established leader in multi-disciplinary, technical, and scientific consulting, specializing in the marine and energy sectors.

They are currently expanding their NDT department, presenting an opportunity for you to join at the forefront of this growth. Committed to valuing their experts, they offer continuous professional development to help you become a leader in advanced NDT.

Objective of role:

  • This is a permanent full time role where the role holder will be required to work flexibly around customers' requirements.
  • Become highly skilled in a number of advanced NDT/NDE methods.
  • Issue interim and final reports, detailing descriptions of examination and anomalies, stating suitability for service in accordance with regulations such as IACS Class Rule, ASME/ASNT, API and PED.
  • Maintain a contemporaneous record of daily activities.
  • Ensure that Safety Policies and Procedures are adhered to.
  • Work as part of the Non-destructive Testing Team and support the Director of NDT Services in the growth of the department.

Working Environment

This is a varied and dynamic position.

Ad hoc offshore, marine and land-based shipyard and plant work. The role is based primarily out of the lab in Liverpool, with mobilised site attendances both around the UK and globally (occasionally offshore; mostly shipyard and onshore plant work).

The role averages at least 5 days per week attendance, either at my client's laboratory, or at the NDT survey location.

When travel is required, accommodation is arranged in quality hotels - not typical onshore facilities.
