Job description

My client is here to support government departments in making critical decisions that enhance the security and prosperity of the UK. Their work is at the heart of national security, making them an essential part of keeping the UK safe. With a team of over 450 skilled professionals, they're passionate about delivering solutions that truly make a difference.

It's not just about code, algorithms, and data, it's about playing a key role in protecting the UK. Their work is highly sensitive and important, and you'll develop mission-critical systems while helping to keep the UK secure.

They have offices in Bristol, Cheltenham and Manchester.

The Role:

My client is a leading organisation delivering complex IT services and digital solutions across high-profile sectors. They are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join their team, responsible for integration, functional, end-to-end, and API testing of critical IT systems.

This is a hybrid role offering hands-on testing experience and opportunities to contribute to improvements in test automation. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery and effective collaboration across multiple stakeholders.

As a Test Engineer, you'll join one of our client's small, agile teams. You'll be working on exciting National Security projects, helping ensure automated testing is built in from the start as part of a smooth CI/CD lifecycle.

At our client, testing covers a wide range of responsibilities. Here's a taste of what you might get up to:

  • Using a variety of technologies, with a focus on open-source tools and frameworks.
  • Manual & automation software testing.
  • Working with DevOps and agile methodologies-TDD, BDD, ATDD-and continuous testing through CI/CD pipelines, with manual/exploratory testing when needed.
  • Designing and implementing automated test frameworks across UI & API.
  • We typically work with technologies like Selenium, Cypress.io, Webdriver.io, Playwright, Cucumber, Robot Framework, Serenity BDD, and Rest Assured.
  • Sharing new ideas with the QA team and helping improve our test frameworks and processes.
  • Conducting non-functional testing, covering areas like Security, Performance, Accessibility, and Operational Acceptance Testing (OAT).

The Fit:

Their Test Engineers love working on interesting and challenging projects. They want their team to have a positive, can-do attitude and a passion for learning and improving. They keep up with emerging technologies and always strive to deliver the best, so if you enjoy continuous improvement, you'll fit right in.

Because of the nature of the work, you'll need to be DV-cleared to work on this role.
